Citroën C25 Prestige
Erich Honecker, number one of the German Democratic Republic will use fifteen Citroën C 25 from 1978 to 1989.
During the same period, other CX Prestige but also other versions of the CX as well as the BX and GSA are also used by various ministers and government officials in East Germany.
For example, there are thirteen CX 25 Prestige Turbo in the fleet of the STASI, the East German secret service.

The preparations for the 40th anniversary of the German Democratic Republic being underway, the person in charge of procurement for the government, sends two of the '85 CX 25 Prestige to Nilsson, a Swedish coachbuilder based in Laholm, to have them lengthened by 60 centimeters. For special bodies (limousines, baby carriages, etc.), Nilsson is Volvo's subcontractor. At the same time, a CX 25 Prestige Turbo 2, also 60 centimeters longer, was ordered from Pierre Tissier by the East German diplomats in Paris.

At the end of his presidency, no less than five Citroën CX Prestige were part of the government's fleet, including the two extended and bodied by the Swedish vehicle company Nilsson. These "Prestige", 5.50 m long, were ordered in 1984 but, due to customs problems, the two luxury cars were only delivered in June 1989. Consequently, they were hardly used since the regime fell, just like the Berlin Wall, work of Erik HONECKER in November 1989.
